Reports from Italy suggest that Roma and Atalanta could carry out a major operation that would see four players swap between the clubs.

Both sides are hungry to return to the Champions League and are looking to strengthen their squads this summer as they prepare for a fairly unusual season, which’ll be broken up by the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Jose Mourinho is building a strong project in Rome, whilst Gian Piero Gasperini is experiencing a transition in Bergamo.

As reported by Tuttosport, talks between Roma and Atalanta regarding Luis Muriel are starting to heat up and ideas have been flowing in the negotiations, with one suggestion being the inclusion of Mario Pasalic in the deal.

In turn, Roma would send Stefan El Shaarawy and Carles Perez to Bergamo, creating a fairly complicated operation that could suit all parties. Considering the difficulty of pulling off a deal like this, updates are expected in the coming weeks.

  1. @scamarca they sold Ibanez to Roma for around 8,9 million and yes Ibanez wasn’t spectacular since he come but he is young and he is improving and is worth 3,4 times more than what he was when he joined… El Sharawy can still be good if he gets more mins to play.. While Atalanta probably has to get rid of some players because they wont have a budget that they had when they were in CL to pay guys like Pasalic and Muriel…
