Inter met with defender Milan Skriniar and his entourage today to discuss a new contract and things reportedly started positively.

There is less than a year left on the 27-year-old Slovakian centre back’s contract with the Nerazzurri and the club are desperate to tie him down to a new deal, not wanting to lose him in the upcoming January transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on the situation, keen to snap up Skriniar in either the winter or next summer’s transfer window.

As reported by Libero, Inter and Skriniar’s entourage did not explicitly discuss figures of a possible new contract in today’s meeting but both parties expressed a clear willingness to move forward together.

A new meeting will be scheduled over the coming weeks, with the Nerazzurri desperately working to agree a new deal with the defender before the World Cup in Qatar kicks off next month.

Skriniar was heavily linked with a move to PSG in the summer but Inter resisted their efforts and retained their star centre back.
