Juventus can breathe a sigh of relief after some positive signs from Federico Chiesa’s medical tests today, following his injury scare in the Derby d’Italia.

The Azzurri star didn’t join Roberto Mancini’s team at Coverciano and underwent medical examinations in Turin today. Luckily for the Old Lady, the injury he suffered against Inter on Sunday night, hasn’t led to heavy consequences.

“The tests Federico Chiesa underwent today at J|Medical following his involvement in the match on Sunday evening ruled out any lesions. His condition will be evaluated day by day,” Juventus said in a statement.

The 25-year-old Italian winger, who only recently returned after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture last year, came on in the 66th minute of the Bianconeri’s clash with Inter on Sunday night.

After just 17 minutes, Chiesa was forced to limp off the pitch to be replaced by Leandro Paredes, leaving supporters anxious that he’d suffered another injury.

Massimiliano Allegri explained to the media after the game that Chiesa has “this tendinitis that he is carrying with him for a while”, but no risks were taken and the 25-year-old underwent tests at J-Medical today.
