The owner of Coppa Italia giant-killers Pordenone says he wants to emulate Udinese and that his club are not going to Inter “for a night out”.

Pordenone face Serie A leaders at their home of San Siro in the Coppa Italia last 16 on Tuesday, having eliminated Cagliari in the previous round, and the third-tier side have lofty ambitions, according to Mauro Lovisa.

“I’m very [rich], but the Chinese at Inter are much richer,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We work hard, but we only have virtual currency… We want to be in Serie B and, in time, Serie A.

“We’re a serious club and we’re not going to San Siro for a night out. It’s a test of maturity, and we’re going there to see what the highest level is all about. It’s a test for the team and the club.

“Role models? The Pozzos’ management is perfect, they have budgets in place, their own stadium.

“The Pozzos are a model and I‘ve always supported Udinese. However, unlike them, I believe more in the youth sector.”
