Spain and Argentina meet in the World Cup Final tonight, and there will be unpleasant implications for Italian football regardless of the outcome. So, who will you support?

Spain and Argentina meet in New York for the 2026 World Cup Final tonight.

The only two Serie A representatives remaining are both Argentines, Lautaro Martinez and Nico Paz, and neither is expected to start.

Italy have already failed to qualify for the World Cup three consecutive times, so the situation is already sad enough as it is. Believe it or not, it will even get worse tonight regardless of whether Spain or Argentina win.

Spain are unbeaten in 37 games across all competitions, as many as Italy, so if they win the cup tonight, they’ll also become the country with the longest unbeaten streak, one more than the Azzurri.

Argentina, on the other hand, have already won the World Cup three times, so if they win another one, they’ll reach the Azzurri (and Germany) with four victories, just one fewer than Brazil.

The question is for you now. Who will you support in tonight’s final? Let us know in the poll and comment section below.

  1. For me, personally, neither. My background is Italian and I don’t care how many Argentinians are also of Italian background or how close Spanish culture is to Italian. But, I say good luck to both of them.

  2. Spain all the way! I will always pick a European team. Plus, I believe Spain will smother Argentina like they did to France.
No way I want Argentina to get that 4th WC and tie us.

  3. I support the development of Italian youth with a clear path to the Serie A and the national team. The future starts now managia del la miseria!
