The exchange deal between Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola is reportedly off after Inter tried to change the terms with Roma.
According to multiple reports from Il Tempo, LaRoma24.it and more, the agents of the two players confirmed the swap has been abandoned completely.
They had undergone medicals this week, but Inter demanded extra fitness tests on top of the usual medicals for left-back Spinazzola.
The Nerazzurri then tried to change the terms of the agreement, from loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season to a loan with option.

Roma attempted to tie it to the number of appearances per season, but again Inter complained and wanted to make sure the appearances had to be at least 45 minutes each to activate the option to buy.
With the Giallorossi needing a replacement for injured Nicolò Zaniolo, they are no longer prepared to wait around and will look at other options.
It has a knock-on effect for Inter too, because until Politano has a new club, they cannot bring in Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.
However, the problem could be resolved by a different approach.
Sport Mediaset and Sky Sport Italia suggest Inter could instead get Giroud in a package deal with Victor Moses, who is currently six months into a one-season loan at Fenerbahce.
This too has its pitfalls, as the 29-year-old has been out of action for six weeks with a thigh strain, having already suffered a similar injury in August.
