The 26-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from San Siro this summer but it is said that his new boss wishes to maintain his services.

“With him even in training we are enjoying ourselves, because his philosophy is to dictate the game, and when you dictate the game you have fun!” Poli told reporters.

“It’s a style of football based on possession. The aim is to play a positive game and also look to enjoy ourselves. It’s something we haven’t had in recent years.

“He is a person absolutely dedicated to work. He is a demanding and hard-working Coach.”

Poli also called for unity at his club and stressed the need to put things right this season after years of underachievement.

“Lately it has been difficult, but we all still have good feelings from the Coppa Italia final against Juve.

“We have a spirit we must use again, even though by wearing this shirt it is something that should come automatically.

“However, the time for talking is over. At this moment we are building the group, we are looking to come together as soon as possible.”
