The latest developments come from Poland, as President of the Polish Football Federation – and former Juventus player – Zibi Boniek announced important news.

“Our protocol has been accepted by the Government,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Teams can resume training from Monday and, if all goes well, we can start on May 27 and 28 with two Polish Cup games, then on May 29 the league matches. Obviously, they’re all behind closed doors.

“We have 10 rounds to go and would like to be finished by July 19. Learning to live with the virus is inevitable, because if we wait for there to be no cases at all, we could be shut down for two years.”

Meanwhile, in Denmark their protocol has also been submitted to the Government, hoping to resume the league games from May 29.

The Bundesliga is waiting for the German Government to give the all-clear, as they have taken another week to consider the situation.

La Liga can resume training from Monday May 4.

Italian clubs are currently in a patchwork situation, as some regions are opening up training grounds for athletes – maintaining social distancing – while others would prefer to wait for the Government mandate of May 18.
