Juventus star Paul Pogba is expected in Turin today when he will resume training one week before his teammates, while according to Tuttosport newspaper the Bianconeri want a new attacking midfielder and Paulo Dybala’s return is one of their options.

Pogba is expected at Continassa today, Monday, July 3, 2023, to begin training ahead of the new season.

The rest of the team won’t arrive before July 10 when all players will undergo physical tests, beginning training on July 11 under Massimiliano Allegri.

Pogba’s agent Rafaela Pimenta said in May that Pogba had not gone on holiday during the summer, focusing on his recovery.

Pogba struggled with injuries last season and only played 172 minutes across all competitions. Juventus still have concerns regarding his fitness, but Max Allegri is already thinking of how to deploy the Frenchman in 2023-24 and one of the options is to use him as an attacking midfielder.

Juventus may be looking for this sort of player in the transfer market, too and according to Tuttosport, the return of Dybala is one of the options for the Bianconeri.

The Argentinean has a €20m clause valid for Serie A clubs and Juventus would offer him a €6m-a-year salary.

The Turin-based paper highlights that Dybala’s return is just an idea at this stage and that talks between the club and the player’s entourage haven’t even begun.
