Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Juventus star Paul Pogba, was calm when asked about the Frenchman’s injury, suggesting it was ‘nothing serious’.

The 30-year-old left the pitch in tears after suffering a muscle injury in the 24th minute of the Bianconeri’s 2-0 win over Cremonese on Sunday, clearly in distress. Medical tests today confirmed the presence of a low-grade lesion of the rectus femoris in his left thigh, an injury that has ended his season.

It was Pogba’s first start in 390 days and came at the worst time, considering his positive influence on the 1-1 draw with Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals, where he provided an assist for Federico Gatti. Injuries have limited him to just 161 minutes of action across 10 appearances.

Speaking at the Tommaso Maestrelli award ceremony in Fiuggi, Pimenta was first asked about Pogba’s latest injury.

“These things happen, it happened yesterday but fortunately it’s nothing serious and Paul is recovering.”

The super-agent then spoke about the upcoming Champions League semi-final clash between Inter and Milan.

“It’s great to see Milan and Inter in the semi-final of the Champions League, it’s great for Italian football.

“We have a week full of excitement ahead of us for the European Milan derby and also for all our other players who will play in the final in Istanbul.”
