Pogba wanted Juventus but…

Reports in Italy state Paul Pogba did want to return to Juventus, but Manchester United never considered selling him.

The Bianconeri were linked with a move for the World Cup winner this summer, just two years after he left in what was then a world record transfer.

According to calciomercato.com, the interest from the Old Lady was real and Pogba would have happily returned to Turin.

His relationship with Jose Mourinho has never blossomed, and he played the best football of his career with Juve.

However, the Red Devils made it clear there was no way they’d sell Pogba this summer, and wouldn’t even consider offers.

The Bianconeri would have struggled to do a deal in 2018 anyway, as they had already spent €100m on Cristiano Ronaldo, so would have had to sell a star like Miralem Pjanic or Paulo Dybala.

The website believes though that Pogba is increasingly moving toward an exit, and a return to Turin could become a concrete option next summer.

Despite the Frenchman’s affection for Juve though, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain would be favourites for his signature, as they could offer him and agent Mino Raiola far more money.
