Paul Pogba has sparked controversy after deciding to watch the Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi instead of attending Juventus’ Derby d’Italia with Inter.

The 30-year-old Frenchman has been suspended for over two and a half months after failing a doping test following the Bianconeri’s opening day win over Udinese on August 20.

Pogba requested a counter-analysis and both tests confirmed the presence of DHEA, a hormone that boosts natural production of testosterone. He is now working on preparing his defence in a case that could lead to a four-year ban.

As reported by Tuttosport via TMW, Pogba was not in the stands of the Allianz Stadium for Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Inter on Sunday evening, instead travelling to Abu Dhabi to watch the final Formula One Grand Prix of the season with his former teammate Patrice Evra.

The move has not gone done well with Bianconeri fans, who are unhappy that he chose to have fun instead of supporting his team in one of their key games this season.

  1. You know, if the media hadn’t reported this, then no one would have known or cared. This is scraping the barrel of newsworthy media.
