Former Juventus youth team player Bryan Jocelyn Dodien died after a long battle against cancer, a story that moved Manchester United star Paul Pogba. ‘I’ll never forget you’.
Corriere di Torino reports Bryan, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 12 and was forced to stay away from the pitch for a long time, had a fatal relapse.
The former Juventus midfielder was moved by the story and supported Bryan during the difficult times. Pogba also dedicated a goal to Bryan in a 4-0 win over Torino in the Coppa Italia back in December 2015.
“Bryan, I’m with you,” he had written on a shirt he unveiled when celebrating the goal.
Pogba explained after the match that Bryan was ‘a little boy who played for Juve, now struggling with cancer’.
“I had to score for him, this goal was for Bryan. I’m always with him and I will never leave him.”
Pogba, who currently plays for Manchester United, sent a message to Bryan on social media after the tragic news.
“The saddest of news,” Pogba wrote on Twitter. “My thoughts and prayers are with all of your close ones. Losing a loved one is never easy, but I’ll never forget you.
“You fought a lot, you were strong, an example for everyone. Goodbye my little friend. RIP Bryan, you will be missed.”
