Juventus star Paul Pogba remembered an early moment in his career with Mino Raiola and discussed the importance of his current agent Rafaela Pimenta.

The French midfielder joined Manchester United in 2009 at the age of 16 and spent three years in the club’s youth system before leaving for Juventus on a free transfer in 2012.

He returned to the North West of England four years later in a deal worth around €105m but struggled to replicate the form he found in Turin. After six years in Manchester, Pogba again left on a free transfer for Juventus this summer.

Speaking at the Golden Boy awards, Pogba first discussed his agent Pimenta and how it felt to hand her the Best Agent award.

“For me it was a dream to win this award, I want to keep winning. How do I feel? Better, let’s say good. Rafaela Pimenta is my second mother, she has helped me so much in my career.

“She made me understand so many things not only in the world of football. She is a very important person for me and for my family.”

The Juventus midfielder then recalled an interesting anecdote involving Raiola during the early stages of his career.

“When I was young, in Manchester, Ferguson wanted me to sign a renewal. When Mino arrived, he looked at the contract and said, ‘I wouldn’t let my dog sign this contract. Paul, get up and let’s go.”

The 29-year-old Pogba has not yet made an appearance for Juventus since returning in the summer, being sidelined with a knee injury. He will not take part in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar and will return to the Bianconeri squad in January.

  1. So he is doing really well then. He is only interested in himself and was a disgrace at Man Utd
Only interested in money and had a handful of good games in 6 years
