Pogba pushes McKennie out of Juventus?

Juventus are in talks with Paul Pogba and according to multiple reports in Italy, the Frenchman’s return would push Weston McKennie out of the club.

Pogba sees his Manchester United contract expire at the end of the season and his representative, Rafaela Pimenta, met the Bianconeri on Monday.

Juventus have offered Pogba a €7.5m-a-year deal until 2025, but an agreement between the two parties is still far from being reached as the former Bianconeri star is looking for an €11m-a-year salary.

Nevertheless, the Serie A giants are confident that they’ll be able to reach an agreement with their ex-midfielder.

Tuttosport and Gazzetta report that Pogba’s move to Turin would push McKennie out of the Allianz Stadium. The USMNT international has been on the sidelines since February because of an ankle injury and Juventus are ready to listen to offers for the former Schalke man.

McKennie has had highs and lows during his first season under Max Allegri, while he got regular playing time with Andrea Pirlo in the dug-out in 2020-21. Juventus’ chase for a new attacking midfielder means McKennie won’t be a regular starter in Turin next season, so the Old Lady doesn’t consider the 23-year-old ‘untouchable.’

Lazio‘s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is Juventus’ alternative to Pogba, but Claudio Lotito wants €70-80m to sell the Serbia international.
