Paul Pogba explains how he has changed since first leaving Juventus, what he makes of Angel Di Maria and Manuel Locatelli, as well as how he ‘tried’ to get Paulo Dybala to stay.

The midfielder returned to what he called ‘home’ in Turin after his six-year spell at Manchester United, and in both 2012 and 2022 he arrived as a free agent.

“I am very happy to be back here, everyone made me feel right back at home,” Pogba told DAZN Italia.

Some things have not changed, because like his first spell with the Bianconeri, Max Allegri is on the bench again.

“The coach is still exactly the same. I am no longer 22 years old, but when you have a family and responsibilities, you learn so much in life. I’ve changed physically too, I am much more muscular.”

He had hoped to reunite with good friend Dybala, especially as they spent the summer training together, but Juventus had already decided not to extend La Joya’s contract.

“I spoke to Paulo a lot, I asked him why not stay so we could play together for a while longer, but he said it was too late and I should’ve called him earlier…

“We always joke around. I hope he can be happy and he feels he made the right decision going to Roma.”

Juventus played their first pre-season friendly in North America last night, beating Chivas 2-0.

“I have been really impressed by Dusan Vlahovic. I call him Du-Du, it’s easier than Dusan. Federico Chiesa is also young and very talented.

“Fideo Di Maria is such a great player. Even when you know what he wants to do, you still can’t stop him when he gets that ball on his left foot. He’s phenomenal.”

Pogba has already given his new teammate Manuel Locatelli a nickname within days of returning to Juventus.

“Loca is great, I call him ‘Super Class’ because he plays with class and is classy off the field too, in the way he dresses and moves.”
