Paul Pogba seems to finally be on the verge of a comeback from that knee injury he sustained in July and hopes to make his Juventus ‘debut’ in January.

The midfielder made his return to Turin over the summer as a free agent from Manchester United, but didn’t get to play in the Bianconeri jersey in a competitive match.

He damaged the meniscus in his knee during a training session in July and when conservative treatment failed to have the desired effect, he went under the knife.

That was aimed at ensuring he could play in the 2022 World Cup for France, but a muscular issue prevented him from participating.

Pogba has been working with a physiotherapist in Miami during his vacation and La Gazzetta dello Sport are confident this is at least leading him back to full fitness.

Serie A resumes on January 4 and it is reported that Pogba hopes to be on the field for the Scudetto showdown with Napoli on January 13.

Meanwhile, the team will get together at the Continassa training ground from tomorrow and that is where the club doctors will be able to give an update on Pogba’s condition.
