Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias has been charged along with four others with participating in an extortion plot against the Juventus midfielder. ‘We will appeal this decision,’ said his lawyer.

According to RMC Sport, Mathias was formally charged with extortion and criminal association this evening in Paris and placed in custody after the decision of the magistrate.

There are now five suspects in the plan to extort money from France international Pogba, including Mathias Pogba, all aged between 27 and 36.

“We will appeal this decision,” lawyer Yassine Bouzrou told BFMTV. “My client has committed no criminal offence. We do not understand the decision to keep him in custody, especially as he has an alibi for the night of the alleged kidnap.”

It comes after an eventful day, based around two specific incidents that happened on March 20 in Paris and July 14 at the Juventus training camp in Turin.

RMC Sport had also reported that Mathias Pogba had an alibi for the March 20 event, when a gang allegedly confronted him and took him to an apartment, where they demanded money, which is being referred to as a kidnapping attempt.

Paul Pogba has told investigators he believes Mathias was acting under duress when recording the social media videos threatening to reveal things about his brother.

Le Parisien and AFP report that Mathias assured he was acting alone.

No. He was confronted on his way home, then taken to AN aprtment. Not his apartment.

Make an effort to actually report rather than speculate.
Maybe writing less articles about Conte and the EPL will help.
