Paul Pogba has broken his silence with an enigmatic social media message after he was punished by Juventus for turning up late to training.

The midfielder had been expected to feature in last night’s 1-0 Europa League Round of 16 victory against SC Freiburg.

However, he was left out of the squad entirely by coach Max Allegri as punishment for his tardiness to a team meeting, and sat in the stands to watch his teammates.

Pogba posted a stark black and white image of himself seemingly inside a sauna with one word: ‘Reset.’

This was seen as an enigmatic response to the situation, pressing the reset button with Juve and Allegri, knowing he has to earn his place in the squad and the punishment is complete.

On the other hand, it inevitably drew jokes from various social media users who urged Pogba to ‘reset your alarm clock’ to avoid turning up late again in future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also argued today that Juventus are growing increasingly frustrated with the France international’s behaviour since the return from Manchester United, as his refusal to undergo knee surgery for months caused him to miss most of the season.

He had put the 2022 World Cup ahead of Juve’s needs, but ended up damaging both, as he was unable to participate in the tournament in Qatar anyway.

  1. Please lets not waste more space on Pogba. When he maybe starts showing something on the pitch then we can talk about him. Otherwise, all hype and gloss.
