Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic are among those present at the 2022 World Cup Final in Qatar, but France star Karim Benzema reportedly refused to attend.
Argentina and France face off at 15.00 GMT for the trophy.
The Lusail stadium is packed to the rafters with A-Listers for the grand final, including players like Pogba who would’ve been preparing for the match in the locker room if not for injury problems.
Pogba was spotted sitting next to Milan and Sweden striker Ibrahimovic, chatting with President of France Emmanuel Macron and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Others in attendance include the world’s second richest man and new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk.
However, someone you won’t see in the stands is Ballon d’Or winner Benzema, who seems to be very bitter at missing the tournament due to injury.
According to multiple reports including L’Equipe, Benzema was invited by President of France Macron and responded on Instagram with the message: ‘Not interested.’
It’s suggested Benzema was irritated that Didier Deschamps decided not to keep him with the squad just in case he was able to recover from the injury, especially as no replacement was called in.
