The German international underwent his medical this morning and arrived at Linate airport to a warm greeting last night.
He had been expected to take part in his first training session today, but the international transfer has not yet come through from Arsenal.
Therefore Podolski only visited the Appiano Gentile ground, met his new teammates and Coach Roberto Mancini before doing some work in the gym.
Meanwhile, Inter fans are already snapping up his Number 11 jersey.
It is still hoped that Poldi can make his debut in Tuesday evening’s Serie A showdown with Juventus, the Derby d’Italia.
Podolski also went on Instagram and Twitter to send a message to the Gunners supporters, though pointedly did not mention the club or manager Arsene Wenger.
“I can't express in words my gratitude towards Arsenal fans for all they have done for me in my years in London! Please know my heart always holds a place for you.
“I've loved every minute playing for Arsenal & I hope I have left my mark on the club & fans alike. “Hopefully we shall meet again! COYG #AFC #RedArmy#Fans #Poldi #Gunner #Thanks”
