Tommaso Pobega admits Ivan Juric asked him to return to Torino in the summer, but his target was always to stay at Milan.

Pobega, a product of Milan academy, spent the last season on loan at Torino before his return to the club over the summer.

“I learned that I would stay at Milan at the end of the summer, talking to the coach and directors,” he told Tuttosport newspaper.

“It wasn’t difficult to reach an agreement because I wanted to stay. Being here is a step forward and a new phase in my path.

Did Ivan Juric ask him to return?

“Yes, he did, but I had to talk to Milan first. My target was to return to Milan every time I left on loan, it has never changed.

“I’ve improved year by year, and I think I deserve this opportunity.”

Has it been difficult for him to settle in at Milan?

“I’ve had no issues because I already knew many of my teammates. I knew the environment, so it was all natural. I’d like to win the title because it would bring the second star.”

Milan visit the Granata on Sunday night. Would Pobega celebrate if he scores?

“I think so because I think it’s the right thing to do. I have the utmost respect for Torino fans because they always supported me. But it’s right to celebrate out of respect for my current fans.”

  1. Badly needed as he is a different CM to our other options. Always looking forward and making things happen. Hopefully a long Milan career ahead of him.
