The Players’ Association again reiterated they will not accept Serie A matches played in the early afternoon during June and July.
The fixtures will return from June 20 and a packed remaining fixture list means games on almost every day, but the issue remains of when to stagger the kick-offs.
“Playing at 16.00-16.30 in certain periods of the summer becomes a problem not just for the cities in the south, but the north too,” AIC vice-president Umberto Calcagno told Radio Punto Nuovo.

“We have to protect the health and safety of players who will already be dealing with a tour de force of fixtures. I would recommend removing the afternoon slot and instead playing on extra days in the evening.”
Some have even proposed following La Liga by kicking off close to 22.00-23.00 at night in order to avoid the heat of summer.
