Theo Hernandez was the MOTM in Milan’s 1-0 win over Napoli on Sunday
Milan
Maignan 6.5 – A decisive save in the second half was the highlight of his match..
Calabria 6 – The captain got injured early in the first half and it remains to be seen if he’ll be available against Rennes in Europa League next week. (37′ Florenzi 6)
Kjaer 6.5 – The Dane had it under control even when Napoli were counter-attacking (66′ Simic 6)
Gabbia 7 – Milan’s defensive leader when Kjaer left the pitch. He made sure all his young teammates (except Theo) were focused and felt no pressure.
Theo 8 – Outstanding performance. Scored a wonderful goal and finished the game as a central defender in a three-man defence, but he continued pushing.
Adli 6.5 – Not the fastest player you’ll see, but extremely smart tactically.
Bennacer 6.5 – Played until he could, combining quality and quantity and didn’t disappoint. (65′ Musah 5.5)
Pulisic 5.5 – Not his best performance. He was lively but didn’t hurt much. (80′ Jimenez N/A)
Loftus-Cheek 5.5 – Same as Pulisic. We’ve seen better performances from the Englishman this season.
Rafael Leao 7 – He is not clinical right now, but every chance Milan created, came from him, including Theo’s winner.
Giroud 5.5 – The Frenchman failed to get his name on the scoresheet and didn’t have many chances to hit the Partenopei. (80′ Jovic N/A)
Coach: Pioli 7 – Secured a deserved victory even if Napoli could have equalised in the final minutes. A breath of fresh air and probably a victory that will allow Milan to play in the Champions League next season.
Napoli
Gollini 5.5 – The ex-Tottenham and Fiorentina keeper was a bit shaky on some occasions and was probably not in the best position when Theo scored.
Ostigard 5 – Milan easily found a way on his side to score the winner. Replaced during the break. (46′ Politano 6.5)
Rrahmani 6.5 – A solid performance, but it wasn’t enough.
Juan Jesus 6.5 – Used his physicality wisely, also inside the box. (89′ Ngonge N/A)
Di Lorenzo 5 – The Partenopei captain is nowhere near last season’s standards, like most of his teammates.
Anguissa 6 – Fought hard in the middle of the pitch. Can’t be blamed for Napoli’s defeat.
Lobotka 5 – Like Di Lorenzo, he’s unrecognisable this season. Too slow, too weak, lost too many duels.
Zielinski 4.5 – Played his first game in his new stadium, but Inter will expect more next season. (76′ Lindstrom 6.5)
Mazzocchi 5.5 – Played as a left wing-back and as a left-back, but never left his mark. (76′ Olivera 6)
Kvaratshkhelia 6.5 – Napoli’s only spark of light. The Georgian kept Milan defenders busy, but he couldn’t do everything alone.
Simeone 5 – One shot off target before being subbed off. (55′ Raspadori 6)
Coach: Mazzarri 5.5 – What Napoli used to do with one pass, now they do it with two or three so they are much slower. Tactically confused, he started with a three-man defence and quickly changed to a 4-3-3 system. Milan also switched formation during the game, but they have an identity, while Napoli don’t.
