UEFA President Michel Platini has shown that he still supports Juventus by backing his former side to win the Scudetto.

The Old Lady currently lies sixth in Serie A, nine points adrift of League leaders Milan.

"Mathematically Juventus are still in the race for the Scudetto," Platini said.

"The League is very open, even if the gap with Milan is nine points and Max Allegri's side are going very well.

"Juventus are always Juventus and I support Andrea Agnelli's team. If they don't win, then patience."

Asked about if he thinks the standard of Serie A has declined, Platini said: "I don't believe this.

"Serie A has its own characteristics, its own way of being, just as other Leagues have strong points, but also weaknesses."
