Juventus legend Michel Platini believes it's only a matter of time before his former club win the Scudetto again.

Interviewed on Sky Italia after being awarded a star commemorating Juventus' 50 club legends, Platini was asked who would win the title.

"Juve, surely," he smiled.

"Juve were the best in the world. It's difficult to rebuild after Calciopoli and it takes time."

Confronted with the fact that even young Juventus supporters worship him, Platini joked: "It's because they didn't see me play…

"I don't know why they love me this way. Perhaps it's because I love them too. It's always an honour to hear compliments from youngsters who know about Juve's great history."

Platini then talked about the crisis in Italian football.

"Italy is no longer the best in Europe. There are cycles. Today it's more about English or Spanish football.

"When I played it was Italian football. Now it's a little lost.

"Now there is a lot of violence, much more than before. When you see empty grounds, you don't want to come and play in Italy anymore."
