Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini called UEFA President Michel Platini “just a stuck-up Frenchman.”

The Rosanero patron is well known for his outlandish comments and did not disappoint when speaking to Radio 24.

“Platini thinks he’s the judge, but he’s just a stuck-up Frenchman,” declared Zamparini.

He was defending FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio, who was given a six-month ban by UEFA for racist comments.

“Tavecchio was criminalised for a joke, but everyone really wanted to attack him because it’s a power struggle between the Agnelli clan and the Lotito clan.

“Della Valle is right when he says the Agnelli family took a lot from Italy and then abandoned it.”

Lotito is Tavecchio’s strongest supporter and many have shown concern over how involved he seems to be in the running of the Federation.

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli and Roma chief James Pallotta were against Tavecchio’s election even before the racist statements.
