Technical issues in Napoli‘s plane have delayed the Partenopei’s trip to Braga so Rudi Garcia and Mario Rui won’t hold a pre-match press conference before 20:00 BST today.

Sky Sport Italia claims Napoli have been forced to delay their trip to Portugal due to problems with the plane that should have brought them to Braga.

According to the report, Napoli players and staff members have been waiting for the plane to take off for almost two hours today at Naples’ Capodichino Airport.

This means Rudi Garcia won’t talk to the media before 20:00 BST, 21:00 Italian time. His pre-match press conference had initially been scheduled for 17:45 BST.

The Partenopei will visit Braga in the opening 2023-24 Champions League group stage game on Wednesday at 20:00 BST.

They reached the Champions League quarter-finals under Luciano Spalletti last season but were eliminated by their Serie A rivals Milan.

The defending Serie A champions currently sit fifth in the Serie A table with seven points in the opening four games.

  1. This is going to be a hard season to watch my Partenopei. Garcia is not off to a good start and seems completely confused as to what to do with these players. They look slow and tired, either too much or too little conditioning. Adding in questionable substitutions and…. Escaping the group stage will be a win, and ending in CL spots again this year will be success. Shame to have to look at it this way after last year’s dominance.
