The Roma midfielder and his international colleagues will open Group F of this summer’s tournament in Rio de Janeiro against Lionel Messi and company, before then facing Nigeria and Iran.

Whilst recognising the challenge of that opening fixture in particular, Pjanic has made clear that Bosnia do not hold any trepidation.

“We do not fear anyone because we believe in our chances,” the 24-year-old has told Sky Sport 24 this week.

“We will against one of the favourites in Argentina, but we have the expertise to challenge them.

“Many of us have played in big European tournaments and know how to deal with certain situations.

“Progressing from the group is our goal. Brazil is beautiful, it seldom happens that you can train on the beach, and we are realising how fascinating this country is.”
