The Bosnian has been linked with a possible move away from the Old Lady over the summer, with several leading clubs around Europe rumoured to have been interested in his services.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport reports no club has come close to matching Juve’s reported €100m valuation of the midfielder.

And with the closure of the English transfer window in just two days time eliminating the possibility of Pjanic joining a Premier League club, it appears ever more likely the 28-year-old will remain in Turin.

The Italian daily reports that a successful lunch meeting took place in Milan yesterday between the player and leading Juve officials.

Although the length of Pjanic’s new deal has not yet been decided, it is understood he will increase his annual earnings by €1.5m.
