Miralem Pjanic assures he is ‘happy at Besiktas’ and intends to stay until the end of the season after the former Juventus man was linked with Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa.

The 31-year-old joined Barcelona last summer in an exchange deal with Arthur Melo plus cash and struggled to make any sort of impact at Camp Nou.

He was shipped out on loan to Galatasaray in September 2021.

There were reports from Primo Canale that Genoa were preparing an offer to take Pjanic on loan in the January transfer window.

The squad is under new American ownership and coach Shevchenko is seeking reinforcements after replacing Davide Ballardini on the bench.

Pjanic spent much of his career in Italy, at Roma from 2011 to 2016, then Juventus up to the summer of 2020.

“I am happy at Besiktas and I want to stay until the end of the season,” assured Pjanic.

“I haven’t played as much only because I have been injured.”

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international sustained a thigh strain in September and has also been linked with a return to Italy for Juventus.
