The midfielder spoke to Undici magazine about his time in the Capital and Turin, as the two clubs go head-to-head on Saturday.

“This year there are many good teams fighting for the Scudetto: Napoli, Inter, Roma and Lazio. They all want Juve to stop winning and that gives us extra motivation," said Pjanic.

“We hope to celebrate again in May, as our number one objective is the Scudetto. We want to do something extraordinary by winning a seventh straight title. It would be truly incredible.

“People think that winning is easy for Juve. In reality, we dedicate a lot of time to our work and make sacrifices every day. When I was at Roma, we played very good football and always told ourselves: This is the right year, we are strong.

“However, then there were games where we just weren’t there. Juve are always present and correct for every appointment.

“When the papers write stories about splits in the locker room, it’s just them trying to destabilise us. The group is always united and made up of responsible people who are able to talk to each other when things aren’t going the right way.”

Pjanic has played in a variety of positions during his career and is continuing to develop thanks to Max Allegri.

“I feel responsibility on my shoulders at Juventus, because Allegri asks me to make the team tick. If he gets angry with me, it’s because he wants me to get nothing wrong, to be one of the best. He believes in me and that is motivating.

“When I arrived at Juve, Allegri said that in future he saw me playing in front of the defence. I put myself at his disposal and now I am happy in a role where I can really help the team.

“I want my name to be remembered. I have made real steps forward since I came to Juve and there’s a long career ahead of me, so I want to keep getting better.

“At a top club, you always improve, and I am in a very top club where I work daily with incredible people.”
