Miralem Pjanic has been offered to leave Barcelona for free and both Juventus and Inter are reportedly interested in securing the services of the 31-year-old.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have offered both Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti the ‘Carta de libertad’, which allows the pair to leave the club for nothing.

Marca.com reported last week Barcelona need to free up €200m in wages to extend Leo Messi’s contract, so both players were contacted on Tuesday and offered to leave the club for free. Pjanic and Umtiti are not part of Ronald Koeman’s plan and Barcelona’s pre-season starts next week.

However, Umtiti has already rejected the club’s proposal and is expected to continue at the club while Pjanic is considering his future at the Nou Camp.

The former Roma and Juventus star joined the Catalans for €60m plus €5m add-ons one year ago, while Arthur moved to Turin for €72m.

Barcelona have amortized just €15m after Pjanic’s first year at the club, so if he leaves for free, they will register a capital loss in the region of €45m.
