Miralem Pjanic said he wants to stay at Roma and be joined by Edin Dzeko, but is glad Zdenek Zeman has gone.

The midfielder sat down with Roma TV and looked over a series of photographs depicting his time at the club.

“I hope to wear the Roma jersey many more times, because I am happy here. The city is fantastic, the club is great and the fans live for football,” said the Bosnia international.

Pjanic also dropped a hint that he’s trying to convince Manchester City striker Dzeko to make the move.

Pjanic also dropped a hint that he’s trying to convince Manchester City striker Dzeko to make the move.

“I do speak to Dzeko often and we talk about our respective clubs. It has been a difficult year for him. He’s good for any team that he plays for, has won a great deal and I’d love to have him near me again.

“I have a splendid rapport with Mehdi Benatia too. Maybe one day he will return…”

Pjanic had seemed to be on the way out of Roma when Zeman continually benched him, so revealed the issues during those months.

“It was complicated with him. Zeman doesn’t talk to the players, doesn’t listen to them and never changes his mind. It was difficult and we could’ve done better if the locker room atmosphere had been more positive.

“There was so little communication during that year in the locker room.”

Pjanic was far more impressed with Luis Enrique, who is now on the verge of a Treble at Barcelona.

“He’s a great Coach and sees football in a simple way. Unfortunately we had difficulties that season, but when he said that he was leaving, I was sad.

“We should’ve done more to keep him with us. He’s a good man and really helped me to grow.”

Today there are reports Roma will hold crunch talks with current Coach Rudi Garcia after he said they cannot be expected to compete for the Scudetto.

“We had some difficulties this season, but he wants to go forward and never give up. This year we were second again and could’ve done more in some instances. He is a winner and the squad is behind him.”
