David Pizarro concedes Roma's season was dismal. “I give us four out of 10, but it'll be tough next season and we await the new owners' plans.”

The Giallorossi scraped into the Europa League in sixth place and Pizarro barely played until Vincenzo Montella replaced Claudio Ranieri on the bench.

“The campaign was below our expectations and we take responsibility for that,” the Chilean midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team had been reinforced, but on the field could not express its full potential. We thought this could be the right year for Roma, but instead I'd give us four out of 10.”

The Sensi family has now left, as American investor Thomas Di Benedetto takes over from next season.

“Roma have a strong side and some excellent youth products, while we do need to sign players with a great winning mentality. This group has done so much and we came very close to the Scudetto last year.

“Now we await the new owners' plans. It's not positive for Roma to start out again without knowing anything. It's going to be tough next season, especially as the big clubs are already strengthening their squads.

“Personally, I am happy here and intend to respect my contract until 2013.”
