Former Inter, Milan and Juventus midfielder Pirlo already has children from his previous marriage, but these are the first for this partnership.
Valentina confirmed the new via a blog post from New York, where her partner is playing for New York City FC, but that MLS experience is coming to an end.
She noted in the blog that she had a “Sex and the City style scene where my waters broke and we had to rush to the hospital in the middle of the night.
“The twins are called Leonardo and Tommaso. Tomorrow they will be a month old and I have never felt so happy.
“In December we will return to our Bella Italia… I think that I owe a great deal to New York, it was the most wonderful experience of my life.
“I met fantastic people here who I will be bonded to forever and then… among these austere skyscrapers, I crowned my greatest dream, becoming a mother.”
Pirlo is now 38 years old and his current contract with New York City FC expires in December 2017.
