Conte was on the Juventus bench for three successful years, winning the Scudetto in each one, with Pirlo as one of his star men, and the Coach discussed the bearded midfielder as well as some of his other Italy charges.

“With Pirlo, we’re talking about an absolute genius,” the Azzurri boss told journalists after a meeting with Serie A club Coaches.
“Yesterday [at the Gran Gala del Calcio] he was honoured as the top player in the league.
“As for [Graziano] Pelle, he had the will to be involved in the conversation, and being called up to the national team at 29-years-old is testament to that.
“Matteo Darmian? He’s a flawless professional.”
