The Portuguese star’s brace helped Juventus win the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Inter on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old was replaced with Alvaro Morata after 76 minutes and seemed not happy with Andrea Pirlo’s choice.
“I understand that Ronaldo wasn’t happy at being substituted, but it was only right to rest him for the upcoming Serie A game, even if just a few minutes,” the Juventus coach explained
“He could not have answered his critics in a better way than he did tonight.”
Ronaldo is Juventus’ leading scorer so far this season with 22 goals in 23 appearances.
He was named MOTM by Italian sports papers and seemed relaxed after the final whistle as he celebrated the Old Lady's win with a message on social media.
