The last 24 hours have been unforgettable for Andrea Pirlo, who married his partner Valentina Baldini and entered the FIGC Hall of Fame.
The former Mastro married his partner in Turin yesterday. Many of his former teammates attended the ceremony, including ex-Milan players Ignazio Abate and Massimo Ambrosini. Pirlo and Valentina Baldini have been dating for eight years after the former Juventus coach divorced his first wife.
Less than 24 hours after his second wedding, Pirlo was inducted into the FIGC’s All Of Fame.
“It’s a great honour to be part of the Hall of Fame,” Pirlo told the FIGC’s official website.
Pirlo had been named in the Hall Of Fame in February 2020 but, because of the pandemic, he will receive the award in May when he will donate to the ‘Museo del Calcio’ at Coverciano, an object representing his playing career.
“I don’t know what I’ll bring,” the midfielder admitted.
“I will choose among a shirt, a ball, or other objects that I have at home. The Museo del Calcio is a beautiful place and hopefully, there will be new trophies soon.”
Some of his ex-Italy teammates are already part of the Hall Of Fame. Among them, Alessandro Del Piero, Francesco Totti, Alessandro Nesta, but also his ex coaches Antonio Conte and Carlo Mazzone.
“Alessandro is one of my best friends, we used to be roommates during the training retreats. With Conte on the bench, I lived a fantastic adventure. We are on good terms and we still talk sometimes. The same goes for Lele Oriali with whom I worked at Inter and with the national team.
“Mazzone changed my role at Brescia and I will forever be grateful to him for that.”
