Andrea Pirlo is edging closer to agreeing personal terms with Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk, claim reports in Italy.

It was Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà who first mentioned the approach earlier this week and he updated fans on the situation this evening.

Negotiations have been progressing well and he reports that the two parties are getting closer to a financial agreement on the contract.

Tomorrow there ought to be a conference call involving Pirlo, his agent and the Karagumruk representatives to work out the final details.

It will be only the second management job for Pirlo, who spent the 2020-21 season at Juventus.

He won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana, but was still fired to make way for Max Allegri.

Karagumruk already have several Italian players in the squad, such as striker Fabio Borini and goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

The Turkish Super Lig also has other Italians taking to the pitch on a regular basis, above all Mario Balotelli at Adana Demirspor.
