Pippo Inzaghi admits facing his brother Simone as Serie A Coaches “doesn’t happen every day,” but then focused on rescuing Bologna.

This was a very special occasion, the first time Pippo has faced his younger brother Simone as tacticians, although they did battle as players.

“We knew this isn’t something that happens every day, so there was a special hug before kick-off. It was emotional, but then each man had to focus on what was best for his own team,” Pippo told Rai Sport.

There are reports Bologna will stand by the Coach, despite today’s 2-0 defeat sending them plummeting further away from the safety zone.

“We didn’t struggle that much in the first half and were dangerous on the counter, but got the final ball wrong. Then we conceded on a set play and that was our usual naïve mistake of the day.

“A defeat to fourth-placed Lazio is understandable, the team gave its all, but we need something more to get out of this situation.

“There’s Napoli coming up next and then we’ll look to the market, as the President already expressed his intentions for next month. We have 20 games to go and 60 points up for grabs, but what we are doing right now isn’t enough.”
