Benevento coach Pippo Inzaghi says the upcoming Serie A match against Milan ‘won’t be a normal game’ and reveals Juventus’ decision not to call-up Ronaldo against the Streghe motivated his players.

The newly promoted Serie A side sit 10th in the table with 18 points in 14 games and are due to face Milan at home after the Christmas break on January 3.

“It’s not going to be a normal game, even if facing my brother was more difficult,” Inzaghi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’s not going to be a normal game, even if facing my brother was more difficult,” Inzaghi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am happy for Milan, I think they can be title contenders until the end. I am happy for their fans, they will always remain in my heart. I am sure they want to know the result of Benevento every week,” he added.

“My players always know what to do. They know when it’s the right time to suffer and when we must attack. We've earned the respect of all other teams, but we haven’t gained survival yet. I am sure teams like Torino and Genoa will soon get back on track.

“We are only going to sign new players if they will add something on a technical and mental level. Otherwise we don't need them. Young players are always ready to play here, the always train well.”

Benevento picked up a draw against Juventus in December with the Old Lady who hadn’t called up Cristiano Ronaldo for that game.

“I like to motivate the team and we gave the 120% on the pitch that evening. It always happens, that’s why we run the risk of a physiological decline, but we train hard to avoid it," Inzaghi concluded.
