Stefano Pioli warned Marco Sportiello will be Fiorentina’s first choice goalkeeper this season and expects another defender to arrive.
The Viola beat Trentino Team 11-0 in today’s friendly with Ianis Hagi bagging a brace.
“Clearly I have announced the hierarchy of goalkeepers to the squad. Sportiello will be the first choice,” said the Coach, shelving Ciprian Tatarusanu.
“I always work with the idea a goalkeeper is slightly ahead of the other, then it’s up to them to maintain or overturn that status.”

Nikola Kalinic did not take part in the game, as he is in Croatia amid Milan rumours.
“He was given time off due to a family situation that we hope can be resolved quickly. Clearly there are other situations at play too and the sooner these situations are clarified, the better.
“I think we will sign another defender, as a fourth centre-back ought to arrive. Hagi plays well with both feet. I’d like him to be more clinical in his finishing, as at times he wants a few too many touches and slows the move down, but he has talent. We’ll see what the best solution is for him and for us this season.
“Khouma Babacar is a complete centre-forward seeking consistency and I am happy to work with him.”
