Stefano Pioli currently has the second best points per match average in Milan history, second only to Fabio Capello.
The Rossoneri are on the hunt for their first Scudetto in a decade and a win over Atalanta on Sunday would secure that feat, further writing Pioli into the club’s history books. The team have experienced an impressive transformation in the last two-and-a-half years under the 56-year-old Italian coach and now they’re on the cusp confirming that growth.
As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Pioli has picked up 1.96 points per match on average since taking over Milan in October 2019, putting him second in the club’s all-time ranking list. Ahead of him is Fabio Capello, who secured an averaged of 2.02 points per match.
Pioli currently finds himself sitting above the likes of Arrigo Sacchi (1.95), Nereo Rocco (1.95), Carlo Ancelotti (1.84) and Massimiliano Allegri (1.81).
The Milan coach’s contract expires next year so it’s likely that he’ll be rewarded with a hefty new deal once the season concludes.

Thank you Mr pioli for the good job you don
A win over Atalanta would NOT secure Scudetto. It depends on the Inter match.
Amazing really. What a job he’s done.
Milan Fan I think he is talking about securing the number 2 best Milan coach per winning percentage
