Stefano Pioli underlined his happiness following the announcement that he’s signed a two-year contract renewal with Milan.

The 57-year-old Italian coach’s previous deal expired with the Rossoneri at the end of this season, forcing them to agree a new deal. Pioli publicly expressed his desire to stay with the club for the long-term and his wish was granted, signing a new two-year contract extension. He guided the club to their first Scudetto in a decade last campaign and the team look equally strong this year.

Speaking to Milan’s media outlets, Pioli discussed his new two-year contract extension with Milan.

“Signing a renewal with Milan is always very exciting, it’s what I wanted and wished for, I thank the owners for this opportunity and the technical area also for the timing in which this contract was done.

“I am very happy, if possible signing this gives me even more energy to continue what we are doing.”

Milan currently sit third in the Serie A table after 12 games, six points behind league leaders Napoli. The club are also close to securing their spot in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, just needing a positive result against RB Salzburg.

The 57-year-old Pioli has overseen 153 games for Milan since taking over in October 2019, averaging 1.97 points per match.
