Marcus Thuram is clearly Milan’s priority target this summer and Stefano Pioli is continuing to personally push for the Paris Saint-Germain linked striker.

The Rossoneri set their sights on the 25-year-old Frenchman a number of weeks ago and have already presented an offer to him, but are facing stiff competition from Paris, where a more lucrative contract has been prepared.

Thuram had asked for a few days to make a decision, but this has turned into two weeks and both clubs are keen to resolve the issue as soon as possible, allowing them to focus on other targets.

Pages two and three of today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Milan have offered Thuram a contract worth around €5-5.5m net per season, far less than PSG’s offer but Pioli has already promised the striker a central role in the project, something he’s unlikely to be given in the French capital.

The Italian coach has been in close contact with the 25-year-old, trying to personally convince him to make the move to the Lombardy capital. Thuram will also talk with the new PSG coach in the coming days before ultimately making his decision.
