Pioli prepares tactical trap for Klopp

Milan coach Stefano Pioli hopes to give Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp difficulties by playing a mobile attacking trident and make the Rossoneri ‘more unpredictable’ on Tuesday night.

The Rossoneri need three points to keep their Champions League hopes alive and Pioli stressed he is ready to attack the Reds at San Siro.

Champions League | Probable line-ups: Milan vs. Liverpool

Liverpool won 3-2 in the first leg at Anfield and have picked up 15 points from five games in the Champions League group stage.

Milan must win and hope Atletico Madrid and Porto draw at the Estadio do Dragao to book their place in the knockout stages, as one point separates the three teams behind Liverpool in the table.

Pioli said he wanted to create ‘more trouble’ by being ‘more unpredictable’ against Klopp’s men, but must cope without Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud, Ante Rebic, Samu Castillejo and Pietro Pellegri.

Milan seem set to start with Junior Messias, Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic in the attacking trident behind Ibrahimovic, as the coach is looking for a more mobile attack.

Pioli knows Milan must surprise their opponents and thus asks for an ‘unpredictable’ team.

“Zlatan is not the only striker we have,” Pioli said at the press conference on Monday. “The more we are unpredictable, the more trouble we can create.

“We are ready, the fans will be there to motivate us. There are all the conditions to do well.”
