Bologna boss Stefano Pioli was furious with the 2-0 defeat to Juventus. “Federico Peluso should’ve been sent off.”

The Rossoblu held out for long periods in last night’s Serie A match, but Arturo Vidal and Giorgio Chiellini goals proved decisive.

“We didn’t start the way we should’ve done and conceded an early goal because we allowed too many runs into the box,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“After that it was a balanced encounter and we matched Juve blow for blow, creating several opportunities to get back into the game, but unfortunately we were unable to take them.

“The regret is for the start of the match and, I’m sorry to say this, but Peluso should’ve been sent off. He deserved a second yellow card, that was pretty evident, and I think the fact Antonio Conte substituted him straight afterwards proves how obvious it was.

“The team is performing fairly well, as we had to face some big teams over the last few weeks, but I think we held our own.”
