Stefano Pioli insists Milan ‘are ready’ for the Champions League and know how to face Dinamo Zagreb, even after the victory over Chelsea. ‘We have to prove how much we’ve learned.’

It kicks off at 17.45 UK time (16.45 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game, Rangers-Napoli and Juventus-Benfica on the LIVEBLOG.

“We gained experience in this competition last season, now we have to prove how much we’ve learned,” Pioli told Milan TV.

“It is an important match against a solid opponent that is not easy to break down. We are Milan, we’re in good shape and the new players are settling in well too. At this stage of the season, we still have plenty of physical and psychological energy to draw on.

“I expect a game where we play our football and do it well. I think there has been too much talk about the difference between the Champions League and Serie A, we are ready for both tournaments.”

Dinamo Zagreb caused a huge upset already in the group by beating Chelsea 1-0, a result that saw Thomas Tuchel fired.

“They have not lost for a long time domestically and in the Champions League beat one of the favourites,” added Pioli.

“They have very clear objectives, defend with solidity and intensity.”

There are over 60,000 fans at San Siro this evening, along with circa 5,000 Dinamo Zagreb supporters.

“Our fans are unique, the atmosphere at San Siro is electrifying and energetic. We’ll try to make the most of home advantage to put in the best performance.”
