Stefano Pioli said Milan ‘have not done anything yet’ and that the Rossoneri ‘cannot celebrate until we have reached the Champions League’.

The 3-0 win over Juventus means Milan sit third in Serie A, three points above the Old Lady at fifth.

But Pioli stressed his men can’t rest and is focused on continuing with another positive result against Torino.

“We must have balance,” Pioli said at a press conference. “Just as we have not been demoralised after Lazio, we will not be distracted after Juve.

“We are focused, this game is fundamental, there’s still a need to score points. We have clearly won against a historic opponent, we have faith and we are aware, but we know that we haven’t done anything yet.

“We will only be able to celebrate when we have reached the Champions League. It’s time to keep this attitude. I’m not afraid of euphoria, but I’m worried because the details can always determine a match and we have some difficulties.

“Tomorrow’s game will be different from Sunday’s. The opponents play wit a different system and attitude, so it will all depend on the choices I make.

“The team have recovered well, we must have the same attention.”

Pioli confirmed Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be available for the two next games, but hopes to have the Swede back in action for the final game against Atalanta.

He was asked about the contractual situations of some key players, above all Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has yet to confirm his stay at Milanello.

“He’s a professional, very attached to the moment and the situation,” Pioli continued. “Like all of us, he’s focused on Torino-Milan, Milan-Cagliari and Atalanta-Milan.

“On May 24, they will sum up someone’s next choices, until then, no one will think about their future.

“You play as a team, winning or losing. If the performances of the individuals increase their value, then the team’s value increases too and the result of the season.”

Ante Rebic scored a great goal against the Bianconeri and the coach was happy with the Croatian’s reaction.

“The right response from an important player, attached to his work and what he’s doing,” Pioli said. “Whoever is not picked to start must be angry, that’s right. Everyone feels they have given so much to reach the target and would like to play.

“If they don’t greet me a few days, it’s not a problem, as long as they always help the team when they are called upon.”

Pioli also admitted he’s still improving personally and has a ‘great desire to demonstrate’ his capacity.

“My growth process is not over, I have to still improve,” he said. “But the experience made me more aware.

“I’m no longer a young coach but I still have a great desire to demonstrate. Mandela said: ‘If I daren’t take risks, I wouldn’t be much of a leader’.”

Pioli was then asked about the ‘Pioli Out’ campaign.

“I’ve never heard of it at Milanello, there’s a positive atmosphere here, there’s empathy with the players, the technical area and the club,” he replied. “So, I will continue to be calm as long as we work like this.”
